Let me start off by saying that I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years and that I hope your year is full of happiness and prosperity, I know I hope mine is 😉 .
So it may seem like a cliche that I’m talking about fitness and nutrition at the start of a brand new year but for me it’s more coincidental. I have been going to the gym for about a year or so almost consecutively. I go to the gym almost every day for one and a half to two hours. I have cardio, leg , and arms and back days. I prefer leg days though, aka JLo Bootayyyy. Ever since I had my son I have wanted to become healthier for him, I want him to have me around as long as he can. Plus, I needed to get in shape for my wedding.
Moving on. I have noticed a difference in my body. I feel like my body is in better shape and looks much better than it did pre-pregnancy, which is good right? (rhetorical question). I will say that at the beginning of my weight-loss journey I saw more results. I was eating healthy every day, drinking as much water as I could and exercising. In the back of my mind I know that eating well is going to give me the best results, after all, abs are made in the kitchen. After my wedding, I had a break from going to the gym for about two months. At first I felt great, I hardly ate out and didn’t crave sweets as much but towards the end of the two months I started to notice a difference. I craved more junk food, ice cream especially, Hot Cheetos, chocolate, Oreo’s, you name it I wanted it, and I ate it and I noticed. I have never been a skinny girl. I have always been on the thicker side and I would be okay with that if I wasn’t trying to better myself. Don’t get me wrong I believe every BODY is beautiful but I also believe that everybody should treat their body beautifully by eating right and exercising.
Well today I was talking to my sister and we were joking about someone’s weight loss as if they cheated in order to lose so much weight, code word joking, and my sister told me to ask her what her secret was since I have been going to the gym for a year and there hadn’t been much of a difference. I laughed it off not thinking about it but what she said was true. I know many people who have lost so much weight quickly, granted– every body is different therefor I should not compare myself but it’s hard. A similar comment came from my husband when he said that he noticed a difference in my body but that I will never be where I want to due to my eating habits. It is the cold hard truth. I do envy the women who can lose weight so quickly because I know it is much harder for me to. With my current eating habits, my going to the gym is just maintaining I’m not losing or gaining and if I start to see the gain I do only as much to lose it. I am not happy where I am at physically and mentally. I don’t want to feel like I HAVE to lose weight or that I HAVE to be skinny and the only way to do that is a lifestyle change.
So today I went grocery shopping and am hoping to commit to this oh so very much wanted healthy lifestyle. I am also going to remind myself why I started this lifestyle and that in order to achieve my JLo body I need to continue.
So my husband came up to me and asked me a question. He asked me, “if you break up with someone, does your anniversary start over when you get back together?” I proceeded to ask how long the break is. Because I know many couples who have broken up for less than a month and continued their relationship as if nothing ever happened and used the same anniversary.
For me, I think if the breakup is longer than, at most, a month your anniversary should start over. So then he asked, “well what if in that break he or she had another boyfriend or girlfriend for a week, would it still not start over?” Honestly I think it depends. First, why did they break up? and second did they purposely do so just to get with that other person? In my opinion, I believe if there was any type of bad intention from the other party they shouldn’t even be back together, but then again everyone deserves a second chance and that’s a story for another day.
He and his friend were debating about it as well and his friend agreed that the anniversary shouldn’t start over, of course unless a longer period of time went by. I mean does it make sense to have your anniversary on the 15th of May and break up and get back together on June 1st, to wait for Next June to celebrate your One year anniversary? That would be a long explanation, “well we were together for 11 1/2 months then we broke up for 2 weeks and then got back together, so we are only together (again) for 3 months now :).” No, I don’t think it would work out that way, plus it saves all the questioning from your families.
In the end I personally think it depends on the couple’s intentions and what THEY both believe should happen.
So I ask you, should anniversaries start over no matter what? Or should it depend how long and why they broke up?
I am so torn between cutting my baby’s hair or letting his curls grow out. He has thin but curly hair and its thin on top. I love his hair because it looks perfect on him.
I’m just torn between cutting it. I want his hair to be fuller and growing evenly. Everyone in my family swears that by buzz cutting his hair or shaving it all will help his hair grow out thicker and fuller. I’m just nervous that it’ll end up growing straight out instead of full curls.
I love his hair and I’m in no hurry to style it any different, he’s only one so I can wait. But I also don’t wanna put it off too long where he gets scared to cut it and it doesn’t grow like I want it to later !

I just gush about him because I think he is just so perfect! 😍 I mean, which mom doesn’t? But seriously though!
I think I’ll wait a couple more weeks to cut it! Maybe I’ll get over wanting to get his haircut!
If you’re like me, you’re a huge fan of Pinterest! From your seasonal outfit choices to your “wedding” Pinterest board. When I first discovered Pinterest it was like a goldmine to new ideas! I’ve used many delicious and not so delicious recipes. It helped inspire my own wedding. There are so many categories that you can literally get lost in them and lose track of time, not speaking from experience or anything 🙊. But Pinterest isn’t just about finding the cutest baby outfit or finding what you want your future mansion to look like, it also has so many links to helpful websites! I love looking for new exercises, diet plans, and motivational quotes. It can help your daily life without the hassle of Googling something only to find a meme about it. I am currently using a Pinterest DIY to save some of my sons white shirts! You know the yellow stains and the stains on the shirts you can’t bleach due to having color on them.
I made the delicious concoction with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of blue dawn dish soap.
I used a nice pink bowl to contrast the blue color lol and I mixed all three.
Then I added the blue goo to his stained shirts
Well according to the Pinterest instructions I should have scrubbed and then let them sit, but due to my obvious lack of competence I didn’t scrub and just let them sit. Well 30 min later I decided to look at the shirts and I could see a difference even under the powdery white, so then I “scrubbed” with my fingernail and just decided to throw the shirts in the washer. I put my sons detergent in hot water and as the water was pouring in I dampened the shirts and scrubbed them then threw em in one by one.
Now it’s the waiting game. I have to wait for them to finish washing and drying in order to figure out if this was a waste of my husbands 30 minutes (couldn’t find the ingredients obviously) and a Pinterest fail or if it actually works!
I shall have updated photos of before and after. In the meantime I gotta get up and get ready for the day, I mean no one likes looking like a sloth all day.
So I took the shirts out of the dryer and all but one shirt was fully cleaned!!

I’m actually very satisfied with the turnout! I had tried everything to get the stains out and this actually worked! I definitely recommend everyone try this! Especially with little ones and it may also work on the underarm stains of white shirts!
I put the rest of the mixture in a bottle so all I have to do it spray and scrub ! 🙂
